Vacation is nearing its end, but one
more birthday surprise for my brother, still needed to be unwrapped. I planned
for my family and friends to come together at The Spaghetti Factory in
celebration of him entering The 50 Club. I got him there on the pretense we
were going to meet with a couple of friends for lunch. My brother and one of
our friends had birthdays this week. I had him drop me off, while he parked the
car. This gave me an opportunity to let the guests know he was on his way in.
When he entered the door, he saw and
greeted the friends he expected to see, we were walked over to our table and
that is when the table of 18 started singing “Happy Birthday” and he realized
this lunch was for him.
It was fun to have family and friends
from out of town, join us for the festivities. Our dad from Paradise, our uncle
and cousin from Chico, and friends from Salinas all made the drive to join us.
I have a great supportive family and I enjoy sharing celebrations with them.
Not everyone was able to make it, but it was an enjoyable time with those who
were able to make it. Pasta, fresh warm bread, spumoni, cake… how can you go
wrong? We took plenty of pictures which were shared on Facebook. The restaurant staff was attentive, friendly,
and did a wonderful job of getting orders, refills, and we never felt rushed to
leave.
His vacation is now at an end, but he
will have a lot to talk about when he gets back tomorrow!
